The 50-year-old actor was compelled to make this comment when a nosy reporter asked him about his love life during the press conference of his upcoming movie 'The Ides of March'.
"Which is harder, directing or dating in the spotlight?" the New York Daily News quoted the reporter as saying.
Clooney retaliated by dressing down the reporter, as he was allegedly not keen on discussing his romantic life.
"I knew someone would do it," Clooney said.
"I'm very disappointed in you. I mean, everyone is a little ashamed of you right now," he stated.
The 'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' star then asked the reporter for his name, mockingly declaring it to everybody in the room.
"Everybody remember that name. The hard hitting interview, by Paul Chi," Clooney added.
