Actress Nicole Kidman is in negotiations to star in the upcoming "Wonder Woman", joining Gal Gadot who stars as the titular Amazonian Princess.
Although 48-year-old Kidman's potential role has yet to be revealed, it is speculated that she may portray the Queen of the Amazons, Hyppolyta, who in the comic books happens to be Diana Prince's biological mother, according to The Wrap.
Meanwhile, Chris Pine will appear as Wonder Woman's love interest Steve Trevor.
Recent rumors suggested that the film would take place mostly in the modern era with flashbacks to World War I.
It's also said that Wonder Woman would team up with Trevor to destroy Circe who, along with Ares, became the masterminds of World War III.
Patty Jenkins is on board to direct the movie with Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Leonard Goldberg producing.
Wonder Woman will be introduced in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before her solo movie hits US theatres on June 23, 2017.
Kidman will next be seen in The Secret In Their Eyes starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Julia Roberts. She has also wrapped Garth Davis' drama Lion, which also stars Rooney Mara and Dev Patel.
