Dakota Fanning: Dating is horrific

Actress Dakota Fanning finds dating horrific.

The 22-year-old is currently single and says she doesn't like the idea of being in a relationship, reports etonline.com. 

"I find dates, in general, horrific. We have to sit there and ask these questions and pretend to eat a meal, and it just feels so stiff," Fanning told Town & Country magazine.

"The way I prefer to meet someone is through a friend because that means the person is most likely not a freak," she added. 

During the interview, Fanning also revealed that she has split from her boyfriend Jamie Strachan.

'The Runaways' actress added she does not like talking about it.

"I was raised by very traditional southern parents with southern manners. You don't air your dirty laundry to people that aren't your family or your friends. Why would I ever want to portray myself as anything other than together?" she said. 

The couple was together for almost three years.
