The Marvel Cinematic Universe will reportedly no longer produce Spider-Man films as the deal between Disney and Sony Pictures has ended and the two giant studios have parted ways now.
The two studios have been sharing the Spider-Man brand across a
plethora of films since 2015 and sharing profits. However, both the
parties recently opted to break the deal as they are "unable" to reach
new terms for funding of future movies, as reported by Hollywood media.
While social media saw an uproar from the fans expressing their anguish
over the split which resulted in the exit of Spider-Man from MCU, 'Avengers-Endgame' actor Jeremy Renner wasn't far behind in expressing his thoughts on the same.
Renner took to social media and wrote,
"Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and
@marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks #🏹 #please"
'Spider-Man' only began appearing in Marvel films after a highly
secretive, 2015 deal struck between the Hollywood giants but with the
deal coming to an end the future of the teen web-slinger in MCU seems to
be very bleak.
